Michael (Mike) Collier – September 2016 aged 82. At KEGS 1946-52
We are grateful to Mike’s wife, Jan, for the following details and photograph.
“Mike attended King Edward’s Prep School when he was quite a young boy cycling in from The Forge in Sicklesmere where he lived with his grandparents. He later became a boarder as his father was an Army Officer serving abroad. He left to do his National Service aged 18 in 1952. Mike loved sport and a school team photograph of that era is shown below. After a successful career in sales he ran his own Plastics business for the remainder of his working life. He was always a keen spectator and player of sport which culminated in him being elected Captain of his local golf club in 1987. Mike was born on 3rd September 1934 and died on 21st September 2016. He always said his days at KEGS were very happy.”
